Q. Why we don't feel any motion of the earth even though it is spinning?

Answer

         Yes, we don't feel any motion even though we are on the spinning earth. It can be explained by taking a very simple example.

Do you feel any motion when you are in any moving object?

Imagine that you are in a  moving car. The car is moving at a constant speed. You don't feel any motion until you look outside. You are at rest according to the object but to the observer outside the car who is watching, you are in motion.

 

Q.What happens if the earth stops rotating?

Answer

 Some people may think that half side of the earth will be having sunlight and the other half will be dark which is not true.

Suddenly if the earth stops rotating everything on the earth will be thrown at a speed of earth like what happens if  a fast moving car suddenly stops. Even though we are not in motion we also possesses same inertia of motion. so all the buildings, people everything will be thrown far away.
